As well as providing a variety of medical services, VAHS is committed to supporting the well-being of the community through contributions to community events and activities. VAHS is also committed to assisting research into the ongoing needs of the community.

About the Opportunity The role of the Mental Health General Practitioner is primarily to provide general clinical services and specialist mental health services to the Aboriginal Community.
Key responsibilities Provide high standard GP assessments of Aboriginal clients experiencing physical and mental health issues.Actively communicate and coordinate with other VAHS GPs, allied health professionals and specialist services when engaged in multidisciplinary care planning.Refer patients to other providers both within VAHS and/or external as appropriate.Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and documentation.Adhere to the VAHS AGPAL accreditation program, processes and policies.Participate in the implementation and ongoing review and revision of a comprehensive clinical governance framework for the organization.Maximize Medicare Billings/claims through effective and timely Clinic patient records processes.Prerequisites Minimum 5 years General Practitioner experience with Vocational Registration (RACGP, FRACGP, FACRIRM or equivalent).Current unconditional registration as a medical practitioner with AHPRA.Comply with VAHS Immunisation Policy and various infection control policy and procedures.How to Apply Please send your application, which must include a cover letter, resume and responses to the selection criteria, via ****** before Wednesday 9pm, 1 January 2025.
