We are seeking an Auto Electrician to join our team at the Nauru Regional Processing Centre.
This is a Fly In, Fly Out position with a 4 week on, 4 week off roster rotation.

About the Role
In your role as Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical wiring and electronic components in motor vehicles of the Nauru Regional Processing Centre.

General Duties include but are not limited to:
Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring and electronic components in facility motor vehicles including passenger and commercial vehicles.
Perform electronic diagnostics on vehicles to identify faults.
Repair damaged parts, units, malfunctions or deficiencies with the vehicle or machinery.
Perform checks and tests to verify the success of repair work.
Operate hydraulic jacks and hoists safely to inspect vehicles.
Maintain accurate records of work completed.
Maintain parts inventory.
Adhere to safety protocols.
Respond to emergency situations appropriately according to reporting procedures.
Build and maintain a productive working relationship with team members and stakeholders.
Attend regular training and refresher sessions to maintain skills and qualifications including but not limited to cultural awareness, mental health, CPR and first aid.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Certificate III in Automotive Electric Vehicle Technology.
Willingness and ability to undertake induction training, work and live in a hot tropical environment on Nauru.
Social responsibility with the highest standards of personal honesty and integrity.
High level of cross-cultural communication skills.
Sound level of health and fitness.
Auto electrical and mechanical knowledge including knowledge of diagnostics tools for vehicle electrical and electronics.
Ability to read electrical and electronic schematics and circuit diagrams.
Ability to carry out/repair electrical wiring in a range of vehicles.
Working with Children certification.
Undertake, pass and maintain an Australian Federal Police check (this will be arranged by MTC).
Undertake, pass and maintain a full physical and health assessment (initial assessment will be arranged by MTC).
Evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 (double vaccinated) plus one booster with a vaccine recognised in Australia.
