Social Worker L3/Counsellor L3/Psychologist - Alcohol and Other Drugs ServiceThe OpportunityThis role provides a unique opportunity for a clinician, as part of a new team, to contribute to evidence to improve client outcomes and care for people with AOD concerns. The In Reach/Outreach/Brief Intervention (IOBI) multidisciplinary team will provide counselling and brief intervention for clients seeking support for AOD concerns and will also provide in-reach and outreach services. The In-Reach component will bring the team's community expertise into the hospital care setting. The outreach component will work with individuals with ongoing AOD issues who have had experiences that have impacted them to engage with services.Provide an effective and efficient Social Work/Counselling/Psychologist service that addresses the psychosocial aspects of care for people receiving substance use treatment. Actively participate and contribute to the continued development of the clinical role in the AOD service utilizing the principles of Trauma Informed and Client Centred Care.This role, as part of the IOBI AOD Team, provides a unique opportunity to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, with a commitment to providing individualized treatment using feedback to inform clinical care.About YouWe are looking for someone who has qualifications for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or qualifications eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, or a bachelor's degree in counselling.Do you have current clinical knowledge, skills and ability to effectively assess, provide counselling and formulate treatment plans utilizing the principles of trauma informed care in substance use disorders? MNCLHD provides a diverse range of services to a population of approximately 215,000 people. It has a workforce of 4,694 across seven hospital sites and 12 Community Health Centres.This is a Category A position.
