Organisation: Victorian Building AuthoritySalary: Salary not specifiedOccupation: Trades and ServicesReference: VG/672627Exciting opportunity for Senior Plumbing Inspectors to join the VBAOngoing, full-time positionSalary range: $117,718 to $128,897 per annum plus superannuation242 Exhibition Street Melbourne office location and field basedPosition overviewWe currently have 2 exciting permanent opportunities that will suit seasoned plumbers to join one of 2 streams within our Inspectorate team.The Senior Inspector, Plumbing is responsible for undertaking inspections and audits to drive and ensure suitable levels of practitioner compliance with relevant building legislation, codes, and Australian Standards, and the monitoring and enforcement of industry and practitioner performance in meeting compliance obligations.The Senior Inspector, Plumbing is responsible for providing expert technical plumbing advice and support to a range of internal and external stakeholders, making recommendations and assessing non-compliances to determine a resolution.The role will function as the senior peer for the unit, mentor and coach other team members, providing development and shadowing opportunities to support the cross-skilling of the team members that are part of each small response unit.What we are looking for:Demonstrated ability to manage, lead and develop teams of field-based Plumbing Inspectors to perform audits and inspections.Experience in the plumbing industry and advanced knowledge of the Building and Plumbing Regulations 2018, regulatory frameworks, codes, regulatory standards, and Government.Extensive experience in conducting site inspections and audits with a comprehensive understanding of regulatory delivery principles and practices as they relate to all classes of commercial and domestic buildings.Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information, understand requirements, and negotiate strategic outcomes to address issues.Highly developed conceptual and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically, research, and analyze information.Working at the VBA - what you can expectChallenging work and a continuous learning environment.Have a positive influence on the building and plumbing industry.Be part of a new approach to contemporary regulatory practices and enforcement.An amazing employee engagement program, career development, and flexible hybrid work arrangements for greater work-life balance.VBA CommitmentWe value diversity and inclusion in all forms - gender, religion, ethnicity, LGBTIQ+, disability, and neurodiversity.
