Motel Manager

Harbour Lodge Motel is a somewhat busy 23 room motel, situated in the heart of Gladstone Queensland. We are looking for a motel management couple (or the right solo) who can run the business to a high standard, as if it were their own.
Light kitchen work is required for the "on demand" breakfasts and pack lunches.
It's expected on quiet days (3 rooms or less) you will clean and housekeeping staff available for busy days.
Bed linen is outsourced, and toweling is laundered onsite.
The people we are looking for should possess the following attributes:
No previous experience in hospitality and/or motel management required (it's pretty easy work to learn)Ability to effectively manage time and staffWell presented, professional, warm and friendly customer service skillsGreat administrative skills and computer competentExperience with motel booking system an advantage, but training can be providedBasic handyman skillsUnderstand that motel management can be 24/7 and be willing to assist with late check-ins or emergencies if requiredNon-smokers preferred but not a deal breakerYour duties will include, but are not limited to:
Management of daily operations and performance of motelReception duties and customer enquiries, checking in guests and answering callsHandling payments and financial reconciliationsEnsure rooms, grounds and pool are always well maintained and presented to the highest standardMaking basic cooked breakfast on demandOrdering and replenishing stock as requiredManage the efficient housekeeping team (on busy days)Assist housekeeping by stripping rooms, removing rubbish, washing dishesOversee the laundry, including washing/drying of toweling and pillow cases including hanging on washing lineAttend to general maintenance as required and liaise with tradesmen when necessary to ensure everything is kept in good working orderNurture relationships with the guests as we have a large repeat businessThis is a live-in onsite role, an air-conditioned, one-bedroom apartment is provided (ground floor).
Remuneration will be $40,000 - $60,000 pa - Plus super and accommodation on site.
A hand-over period will be offered, with full training on our processes.
The owners (based close by) can provide occasional relief during times of leave, and a couple of housekeeping staff are able to cover for the occasional day off.
This role is best for a couple.
Generally, one person would cover the administrative load, whilst the other would cover laundry, grounds and maintenance.
The motel is pretty streamlined and there's always the option for one to work another job in combination.
