About the role Yooralla has a vacancy for a passionate, positive relationship builder, with experience working with a transdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team model to join our team as a permanent, full-time or part-time, Paediatric Speech Pathologist.
This fulfilling role will provide best practice, evidence-based speech pathology services across the scope of practice to children with a disability to achieve their goals and live the life they choose.
Your working days may involve: Delivering therapy in people's homes, educational settings or in the community; aimed at maximising a person's functional skills and participation as well as promoting physical health and wellbeing.
Communication skills and/or mealtime safety and promoting overall health and wellbeing.
Working as part of an interdisciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Psychologists.
Providing indirect client service/family coordination to support client goals.
About You You'll be an established and enthusiastic Speech Pathologist with a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, be a member of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA), have good interpersonal skills, and ability to engage people with a disability, motivate them and build their capability.
You'll have an ability to work in partnership with children with a disability to set and achieve goals, and to work collaboratively with the person's supports, including their families.
To be successful in this role you'll share Yooralla's values and have: Experience working within a transdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team model.
The ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families.
The opportunity to build on your clinical practice – including the ability to self-reflect and a focus on developing clinical skills in areas you're not familiar with.
Care for the work you do and for the people you work with.
Competency in a variety of IT platforms, particularly client management systems.
Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
An Australian driver's licence and own vehicle, and a willingness to travel across southern suburbs as required.
Appointment is subject to pre-employment checks including the NDIS Worker Screening Check, Inherent Position Requirements Employee Declaration, Working with Children's Check, Reference Checks, Speech Pathology Australia membership, etc.
