Senior Social Worker - Paediatric Allied Health Location: Adelaide (Multiple Locations) – Clinic and Offsite Work
About the Role:
We are a multidisciplinary paediatric allied health clinic with multiple locations across Adelaide, and we're looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to take on an acting Team Lead role for 6+ months to cover maternity leave, with a background in behaviour support.
This position is highly desirable, offering a mix of clinic-based and offsite work.
The role will involve a combination of clinical responsibilities and the supervision of a small team, providing vital services to clients while mentoring and guiding new graduates and junior staff.
The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing our services, supporting children and families with complex behavioural and mental health needs, and contributing to the growth and development of our multidisciplinary approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Work: Provide high-quality behavioural support and social work services to paediatric clients in both clinic and offsite settings across Adelaide.
Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor new graduates and junior staff, including delivering monthly training sessions for new graduates.
Lead the team to ensure collaborative, client-centered care and adherence to best practice standards.
Assessments and Intervention Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments and create tailored intervention plans for children and young people with complex behavioural and mental health needs.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ensuring a collaborative approach to client care.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes and reports, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
Family and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with families, carers, and other professionals to provide integrated support and improve outcomes for clients.
Service Development: Contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures to ensure continuous service improvement.
Highly Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
Experience in supervision, mentoring, or training of other professionals, particularly in social work or behaviour support roles.
Training and/or experience in supervision is desirable but not necessary.
Qualifications:
A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., AASW).
Postgraduate training or certification in behaviour support, mental health, or a related field is highly desirable.
