About the Role We are seeking a Senior Environmental Manager to lead environmental strategy, compliance, and sustainability initiatives for a large-scale energy facility.
In this role, you will drive environmental performance by developing and implementing robust management plans, conducting audits, and managing complex environmental systems.
Your leadership will support both the environment team and site management, ensuring alignment between regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Duties Environmental Compliance and Strategy: Oversee compliance audits and ensure adherence to environmental management standards and regulatory requirements.
Refine and adapt Environmental Management Plans to meet changing regulatory landscapes and operational needs.Risk and Incident Management: Conduct risk assessments, manage environmental incidents objectively, and lead investigations.
Oversee pollution incident responses and proactively identify and mitigate environmental risks.People Leadership and Development: Mentor and support the environment team, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving.
Create a supportive environment that values team input and continuous learning.Stakeholder Engagement: Develop strong relationships with regulatory bodies and collaborate across the company to enhance environmental standards and drive sustainability initiatives. Skills and Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.Extensive experience in environmental management or operations, with strong technical knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards.In-depth understanding of Australian environmental regulations and a flexible, solution-focused approach to addressing regulatory challenges.Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on team development, active listening, and collaborative problem-solving.Excellent communication skills, adept at conveying complex environmental concepts to a wide-ranging audience.
