NEW: A Platinum Healthcare Plan, the nation's best for state employees and dependents, according to a report by Georgetown's Center on Health Insurance Reform and article by Ellen Andrews, Ph.D., along with comprehensive benefit offerings.Sick, vacation, and personal leave.This is a Hazardous Duty Position and offers a pension plan, the State Employees Retirement System Tier IV.Student Loan Forgiveness - the State of Connecticut is an eligible Public Service Loan Forgiveness employer, meaning you may be eligible to have qualifying student loans forgiven after 10 years of service.We encourage a healthy work/life balance for all employees.Assist our employees so they can achieve success.Make a difference in the public sector.Work together in a collaborative team environment.Position Highlights This position is 36.25 hours per week.Osborn CI is looking for a trainee to fill a vacancy on first shift, 7:45 AM - 3:00 PM with one late day, 12:45 PM - 7:00 PM, Monday - Friday.This recruitment will be used to fill an active vacancy at Osborn Correctional Institution in Somers, CT and other future vacancies on first shift and second shift (7:45 AM - 3:00 PM with one late day 12:45 PM - 7:00 PM, OR 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM Monday - Friday) at the following locations:Bridgeport Correctional Center - Bridgeport, CTBrooklyn Correctional Institution - Brooklyn, CTCheshire Correctional Institution - Cheshire, CTManson Youth Institution - Cheshire, CTYork Correctional Institution - East Lyme, CTWillard-Cybulski Correctional Institution - Enfield, CTRobinson Correctional Institution - Enfield, CTHartford Correctional Center - Hartford, CTCorrigan Correctional Center - Montville, CTNew Haven Correctional Center - New Haven, CTGarner Correctional Institution - Newtown, CTOsborn Correctional Institution - Somers, CTMacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution - Suffield, CTAs a Correctional Substance Abuse trainee, you will have the opportunity to receive training in agency substance abuse counseling procedures, offender substance abuse programs, personnel policies, program guidelines, and legal reporting requirements.
Receives training in the utilization of interviewing techniques required to assess client needs, elicit information, and establish community referral sources.Participates in screening offenders to determine eligibility for programs.Assists in the orientation of offenders to treatment programs.Prepares initial/long-term treatment plans, Bio-psycho-social evaluation, case management, being part of facility-based MOUD programming, and receives assistance in becoming certified/licensed through the CCB and DMHAS. #J-18808-Ljbffr
