The Role
We currently have an opportunity to join our Finance team as a Senior Tax Accountant in a permanent position.
This opportunity is open to work from our North Sydney office in conjunction with our hybrid work from home options.
As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will report to the Head of Tax & Regulatory Reporting, working in the MLC Tax Team who are responsible for tax advisory and compliance activities across the MLC covering income tax, product tax matters, tax on investments, and tax in unit pricing.
Your responsibilities will include:
Completing the monthly tax effect accounting and reporting calculations for the life insurance business and its investments.
Preparing MLC's income tax return.
Improving processes to achieve greater efficiencies and reduce risk of errors in line with the ATO tax risk management review guide and Supplementary Guide on Governance over Third Party Data.
Managing risk in respect of income tax, product tax matters, tax on investments, and tax in unit pricing.
Supporting the team on product tax matters including the administration of insurance in super.
About you
Working knowledge of tax effect accounting.
Knowledge and experience of corporate income tax.
Experience in financial services and superannuation would be highly regarded.
Tertiary qualifications in accounting and/or tax.
High numeracy, skill, and confidence in working with accounting information and data.
An ability to analyse whether outcomes are appropriate and to investigate and resolve issues.
A hands-on approach to completing tasks within set time frames.
