About the roleThis full-time or part-time Estimator - Fire role is an exciting opportunity to join the team at AUSTRALIAN FIRE SERVICES in Norwood, South Australia.
In this critical position, you will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for fire safety projects, ensuring the financial viability and successful delivery of the company's services.What you'll be doingConducting thorough analysis of project requirements, specifications, and drawings to develop comprehensive cost estimatesLiaising with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing informationPreparing detailed cost breakdowns, including labour, materials, and equipment requirementsIdentifying potential risks and providing recommendations to mitigate cost overrunsCollaborating with the sales team to support the bidding and tendering processMaintaining accurate records and documentation of the estimating processContinuously researching and staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practicesWhat we're looking forMinimum 2 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction or fire safety industryDemonstrated expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and project costingProficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and project documentsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholdersFamiliarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards in the fire safety industryProficient in using estimating software and MS Office applicationsWhat we offerAt AUSTRALIAN FIRE SERVICES, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment that empowers our employees to thrive.
