ABOUT THE ROLE We are searching for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our OpenDoor team as a Planning Associate Director.
This is a Full-Time position based in Sydney.
This role plays a crucial part in supporting WPP's mission to deliver consistency, delivery excellence and best in class service for Amazon in every country across its diverse businesses, including XCM, Prime Video, and RMI.
RESPONSIBILITIES Receive and interrogate client briefs, understanding both business and communications objectives. Recommend sufficiency of investments within channel to ensure effective use of channels within client responses. Maintain engagement with media partners to maintain knowledge of the media landscape and understanding of core media principles and the capabilities of each media touchpoint. Understand internal product teams including GroupM product and service teams to ensure you have an understanding about their offerings and relevance to our client challenges. Identify audiences and define audiences that drive outcomes for campaign briefs within single source. Report on audience media consumption trends and habits. Deliver in channel ideation and tactics within campaign planning. Create consumer journeys maps across paid media. Have a POV on media planning principles (e.g., scheduling, flighting, recency, effective reach theories, seasonality, market prioritisation, roles of all communication channels) and strong ability to utilise agency and industry tools to enhance and support planned recommendation. Responsible for leading planning responses to brief: Working with the strategy team to create actionable comms tasks. Addressing those comms tasks with the relevant roles of media/channel. Exploring the tactics within each channel that unlock the short- and long-term objectives. Ensuring all work is measurable back to brand and business outcome. Understand marketing science and how it influences decision making with media planning. Deliver internal thought leadership to the planning and client teams. Recommend innovation through media and emerging channels within brainstorms. Create measurement frameworks and learning agendas to ensure media and recommendation effectiveness. LEADERSHIP Motivate the team to achieve individual, team and organizational goals. Develop and train team members to ensure they reach their potential. Ensure new team members are onboarded effectively. Empower team members with skills to improve their confidence, product knowledge, and communication skills. Contribute to a cohesive team environment through team activities and cultural moments. QUALIFICATIONS Holds a deep practical knowledge of Media Planning. Requires a minimum of 6 years of experience. Relevant qualification in Media or Marketing. Experience leading Projects, preferably with a qualification in Project Management. BONUS POINTS Experience within Retail, Entertainment and/or Technology. Ability to craft, size and justify audience definitions with limited first-party data. Passion for narrative writing and persuasive arguments. Ability to go wide and deep: no task too small, no challenge too big.
