ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Cumberland City Council is proud to offer a Traineeship with our Audit, Risk and Safety team in line with the 'fresh start for local government apprentices, trainees and cadets' in conjunction with the NSW Government.
This traineeship offers a combination of on-the-job work experience combined with the completion of a nationally recognised qualification, Certificate IV in Work, Health and Safety, through TAFE or a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
The Trainee - Safety Officer will provide generalist support and administrative assistance to the broader Audit, Risk and Safety team and Council.
The successful applicant will require:
Completed Higher School Certificate and/or demonstrated experience enabling the completion of tertiary studyDemonstrated ability to deal in a positive and courteous manner with the public and other workersGood verbal and written communication skillsPossess administrative and organisational skills, including attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate records and skills in Microsoft OfficeAbility to work as part of a team with good interpersonal skillsABOUT THIS ROLE: 1 x term contract, full-time position for a period of up to two (2) years35 hour week, working from 8:30am to 4:30pmAccess to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangementLocated at Council's Merrylands Administration Office, and may be required to work across any of Council's work locationsSALARY INFORMATION: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
This position is placed in Cumberland's Trainee Salary Structure with a salary range of $639.97 to $882.66 per week, dependent upon the level of school achieved, and 11.5% superannuation.
