The First Nations Allied Health Graduate Pathway aims to model an accessible, safe, effective, efficient, culturally safe and supportive entry to practice for an Allied Health graduate that identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
The position will engage in the workplace for 64 hours per fortnight and will be supported by the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service to dedicate 15.2 hours per fortnight to developmental time.
The Graduate Pathway position will be supported by a development package which will provide:
Funded attendance to the Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) Leadership program. Travel and accommodation to the annual Queensland Health First Nations Allied Health face-to-face networking meeting. Cost of university enrolment fees into MO1001 Project Management Skills and MO1007 Project Evaluation and Transition Outcomes modules in the second year of Pathway. Health professionals employed in Torres and Cape are responsible for working in partnership with Indigenous Health Workers and the communities to provide a wide range of primary healthcare services.
