ABOUT THE ROLE The role of the Employment Coordinator is integral to the implementation of the Department's new high profile initiative to establish a Prisoner Employment Program.
The Employment Coordinator manages, develops, and implements employment programs for offenders in the prison and in the community.
Develops strategies and methods to expand employment opportunities for offenders in the region.
Case manages individual offenders and employers, formulating business cases for viable employment.
Provides the pivotal link of information and advisory services to prison management, staff and offenders, other State and Commonwealth Government departments, Job Network Providers, employers and the community.
As an integral part of the Department of Justice, the Career and Employment Services Branch has a primary responsibility to work for the achievement of a safe and orderly community.
Employment Coordinators are responsible for:
Coordinating the Prisoner Employment ProgramCareer counselling and identifying barriers to employmentIdentifying training needs of prisonersDeveloping links with community groups, employer groups, and government organisationsSourcing employers and RTOsAPPLICATION PROCESS How to apply Please ensure you review the attached Job Description Form (JDF) for further information about the requirements of the position.
