Our products are universally compatible with a wide range of tablet models and are used in point-of-sale systems, visitor management setups, staff timekeeping, and other operational environments.
We cater primarily to business clients and emphasize security, durability, and sleek design in all our products.
Our solutions help streamline operations and enhance customer and staff experiences across retail, hospitality, healthcare, and education sectors.
Position:We are seeking a highly skilled Product Design Engineer with a strong engineering focus to join our team at our headquarters in Nunawading, Eastern Melbourne, Australia.
This in-office position requires a professional with at least 5 years of experience who can drive the technical aspects of our product development process.
The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced Industrial Designer, focusing on the engineering and functional aspects of our products while collaborating on overall product realization.
Key Responsibilities:Lead the technical design and development of tablet stands, kiosks, and mounting solutions, focusing on structural integrity, functionality, and manufacturability.Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, and material selection to optimize product performance and durability.Create and maintain detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications using SolidWorks, ensuring precision in manufacturing processes.Develop and implement testing protocols to validate product designs against performance requirements and industry standards.Collaborate with our existing Industrial Designer to ensure that engineering solutions align with aesthetic and user experience goals.Manage the transition from design to manufacturing, working closely with production teams to optimize processes and resolve technical issues.Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, reduce costs, and improve manufacturability.Stay abreast of emerging technologies and materials relevant to our product lines, driving innovation in our engineering approaches.Contribute to Bosstab's sustainability initiatives by implementing eco-friendly engineering solutions and materials.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field; Master's degree is a plus.Minimum of 5 years of experience in product engineering, preferably in consumer electronics or related hardware products.Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software, with experience in 3D modeling and technical drawing creation.In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly die-cast aluminum, injection molded plastics, and CNC machining.Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other engineering simulation tools.Proven track record in designing products for mass production, considering factors such as cost, manufacturability, and quality.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a technical context.Ability to collaborate effectively with designers and cross-functional teams.Familiarity with project management tools like Monday.com is desirable.Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations for product safety and performance.What We Offer:Opportunity to join a small but growing collaborative team.Chance to have your created products sold globally.Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.A dynamic work environment that values innovation and creativity.Collaborative work setting, including close partnership with our Industrial Designer.Modern office facilities in Nunawading, Eastern Melbourne.Join Bosstab and be part of a team that's shaping the future of tablet mounting solutions for businesses worldwide
