Work with well known IT Law PartnerLots of flexibility: role can be based in Sydney or CanberraClear and transparent career pathThe Firm & The RoleOur client is a multi-award winning national law firm.
Their IT Law team is expanding and due to new clients and new matters, the partners are looking to recruit a commercial lawyer with experience in IT law and telecommunications law as well as experience in privacy, digital privacy, procurement, cyber security and general commercial law.This partner acts for ASX-listed companies, international corporations, start-ups, government agencies, high profile individuals, entrepreneurs, well known IT, telco and media companies that are household names.This role will see you working on:
Advising on privacy, data protection and cyber securitySoftware and SaaS agreementsAdvising IT companies regarding regulatory complianceM&A transactions for clients in the IT industryE-commerce and off-shore outsourcingLicensing & joint venture agreementsProcurement and government contractingAdvising on competition and trade practices issuesGeneral commercial and corporate advice to clients in the IT, telecommunications and media industriesThis role will see you having partner access and building strong relationships with clients.
There will also be opportunity to go on long-term secondments with key clients.
Skills & Experience Around 3 to 10 years pae in the area of commercial law with experience in commercial contracting and advantageous would be some experience in IT law.Strong drafting, advisory and negotiation skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to think outside the squareAbility to work in a committed and high performing teamHungry to succeed and grow a practice.This role comes with an existing client base and there is no need to bring clients, although they are welcome.
