We are looking for a Manager to lead a dedicated peak body supporting seniors and advocating for their well-being here in WA.About the roleAdvocare was recently awarded funding to manage the WA Seniors Peak and we are looking for the right person to lead and manage the development and delivery of this important initiative.
You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the peak, including building strong partnerships with key stakeholders including government, industry and the community sector, engaging in systemic and policy advocacy and driving impactful initiatives that benefit seniors across WA.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the Peak BodyBuild strong relationships with government agencies, industry, community organisations, and advocacy groups.Develop and implement strategies that enhance services and initiatives for seniors.Oversee budgeting, reporting, and compliance to ensure the success of the peak.Advocate for seniors' rights and engage with policymakers to influence positive change.Foster an inclusive, respectful, and compassionate environment for staff and stakeholders.About You:You have experience in leadership roles, ideally in community services, aged care, or advocacy.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare media statements, policy documents and briefings.Strong presentation skills and experience addressing stakeholder groups.You are passionate about advocating for seniors and enhancing their quality of life.You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.You are strategic, innovative, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.You have a proven ability to manage teams, resources, and budgets effectively.Knowledge of seniors' issues and the aged care sector is highly desirable.About Us:Advocare is a leader in addressing the rights of older people and elder abuse.
