And you need to be inspired to do bigger, better.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Lead Engineer to join our Acquiring domainAs the Lead Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across the activities of design, develop, test and maintenance of high-quality software to meet business and customer needs within a squad. This position is responsible for defining technical solution designs, identifying and removing technical blockers and risks, and driving good practices and standards which ensure overall software quality and outcomes. Where applicable, the role will also have people leadership responsibilities within their squad to help uplift people capabilities.In this role you will be responsible for:Driving technical solution design, estimation and delivery whilst ensuring alignment with the domain architectural strategiesPerforming code reviews to ensure that solutions meet the quality standards and requirementsContributing to and ensure adherence to the Governance, Standards and Policies defined by the Engineering practice.Working with the Domain Engineer and other Lead Engineers in defining the Dev, Test and Ops practices and controls and embed these within the Team.Contributing to the Strategic Technical Roadmaps (0-2 years) in conjunction with the product and architecture team.Leading the technical discussions and decisions which come out of the Backlog grooming, solution designing and estimation sessions.Hire and onboard the right people for software engineering team, including defining roles and responsibilities, attracting, interviewing, and selecting the best candidates.Build and maintain a cohesive team that works well together, fostering a culture of collaboration and communication, encouraging knowledge sharing, and providing opportunities for effective teamwork.QualificationsTo be successful in this position, you'll need to have knowledge and experience in the following technologies:PL/SQL (SQL Server or Oracle)Java/JEE, JDBCWebservices (REST & SOAP)MavenAutomated Unit & Integration Testing FrameworksMicro-services implemented using Spring BootCI/CD ToolingDesign PatternsDockerAWS services and certificationTest Driven DevelopmentAdditional InformationWhy Cuscal?We are in the rapidly evolving world of payments, and we are committed to providing a diverse and inclusive workplace where the very best talent in Australia chooses to work.
