Deputy Principal - Students, Staff and CommunityApplications are warmly invited for the position of Deputy Principal – Students, Staff and Community at Kardinia International College. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, authentic leader who is committed to supporting young people, growing community and demonstrating exceptional people management skills.
Position Overview: The Deputy Principal – Students, Staff, and Community: Support the Principal, College Leadership Team and College Executive Team to ensure that College's Mission, Vision and Values are a living and breathing manifestation of each student's experience at the College.Staff and community engagementSupport the Principal in providing both strategic and day to day leadership of the College.In conjunction with the Deputy Principal – Operations and Services, assumes the role of Acting Principal in the absence of the Principal. Key Responsibilities: Leadership: Actively support the College's Statement of Mission, Vision and Values and the implementation of the current Strategic Plan.Provide sound and thorough advice to the Principal to support effective decision-making.Provide leadership to staff in the effective, timely and professional management of their duties.Establish consistent structures and communication systems to ensure smooth and effective daily operations.Provides oversight of:IB accreditations and alignment with CIS.The Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) registration.Highview governance and compliance. Teaching and Learning: Liaise closely with the Principal, Head of Senior School, Head of Junior School, Deputy Heads of Schools, Curriculum Leaders, Heads of Department and Heads of House to ensure clarity and consistency between curriculum, wellbeing and other initiatives taking place within the College.Keep abreast of changes in educational research to ensure Kardinia's programs across both ACARA, VCE and IB programmes reflect contemporary standards.Maintain an interest in research developments in the education and apply these where possible. Pastoral: Have a shared responsibility for staff welfare within the College, liaising with the Principal, Heads of School, People and Culture and Wellbeing Hub.Support the Restorative Practice process in the College ensuring that interactions between staff, parents and students are characterised by respect, grace and understanding equipping students to become active participants in society.Organise activities and initiatives which contribute to and build upon the positive culture of the College.Conduct interviews with prospective students and their families. Commencing July 2025 (or by negotiation), the Deputy Principal – Students, Staff and Community will report to the Principal and will be appointed on a full-time, five-year contract.
