The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is a world-class specialist hospital in eye and ear care providing services across Victoria. As Australia's only specialist eye, ear, nose and throat hospital, the Eye and Ear has been providing care for the senses for over 160 years. The Eye and Ear has almost 90 different outpatient clinics for the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of vision and hearing loss and provides a 24-hour emergency eye and ear, nose and throat service.
About Role Seeking expressions of interest from enthusiastic perioperative nurses who wish to undertake postgraduate nursing studies in the Perioperative stream in 2025. RVEEH is committed to assisting you achieve your professional goals in the further development of your nursing career. We have a proud history as a teaching organisation, providing you with the opportunity to gain postgraduate qualifications in perioperative nursing.
Applications are now open for the 2025 intake of the Graduate certificate in Clinical Nursing: (Perioperative) stream at RVEEH, in collaboration with Australian Catholic University.
One-year fixed term contract of up to 60 hours per fortnight (Negotiable)Commencing February 2025 as per ACU course datesClinical placement will be provided by the Eye and Ear with support from the Perioperative Education and Management team, experienced clinical preceptors, and the theoretical component will be delivered through Australian Catholic University.
Successful applicants will: Have AHPRA registration as a Registered NurseHave a minimum of 2 years perioperative experience in one or more of the following perioperative areas:- Instrument and Circulating Nursing
- Post Anaesthetic Care Nursing (PACU)
- Anaesthetic Nursing
Be able to work in a self-directed capacity to complete all academic and clinical requirements of the programBe able to work a minimum of three shifts a weekAll appointments are subject to a satisfactory Police Record Check, a working with children check (if applicable), and evidence of vaccination status. All staff must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (3 doses) and for clinical staff, patient-facing staff, and staff working in clinical areas, it is a mandatory requirement to provide evidence of a current influenza vaccination.
