A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a qualified Cook to join our team at the Roxburgh Park Hotel in the Northern Melbourne region.
Summary of Position: Organise and control the operations of the kitchen to ensure a memorable dining experience for our patrons.
Duties in brief include:
Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment Preparing and cooking food Seasoning food during cooking Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements May plan menus and estimate food requirements May train other kitchen staff and apprentices To be successful in the role, you will need to have: Appropriate qualifications such as AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) A minimum of at least 2-years formal experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment A positive attitude with a strong work ethic and good communication skills Ability to work well within a team environment and under pressure Be available to work days, nights, and weekends and have your own reliable transport. An ability and desire to work morning, late evening and weekend shifts Innovative and organise. To be eligible to apply for this position you must have an appropriate Australian work visa.
