Financial Controller

We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our leading national FMCG food manufacturing client based in Brisbane.
This is a highly technical and hands-on role ensuring regulatory financial compliance, management & execution of the internal audit function, liaising with external tax & audit partners and striving for best practice.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will be able to work in a detailed and disciplined way and have the ability to identify and implement process improvements while ensuring the continued development of the team.
About the Role: Managing a small team and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will see you performing a wide range of responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities: Cash flow management and forecasting, including preparing and updating daily cash flow forecasts.Treasury management and facilitating drawdown from facilities.Supervision of EOM close and reporting timetable.Accounts payable management, including review and authorisation of supplier payments in accordance with company policies.Ownership of the General Ledger and associated month-end reconciliations.Managing the year-end audit process, including preparing year-end files, supporting schedules, and Statutory Accounts.Preparation of supporting tax schedules and other documents for tax professionals.Review of management accounts and preparation of variance analysis.Mentoring and developing staff.Qualifications: Qualified Accountant – CA, CPA, CIMA, ACCA or ACAEW.Demonstrated commercial business acumen.Payroll experience is highly regarded.Strong technical accounting skills & experience, e.g., audit and tax in Australia.Strong communication & reporting skills.Confidence with financial & data analysis.On Offer: Competitive salary package and benefits.Opportunities for professional development.We will assess applications as they come in, so we encourage you to hit Apply Now and send your resume to us as soon as possible.
