Project Overview:
The Project includes the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of bucket-wheel reclaimers including associated structural, mechanical, electrical and communications services.
The Project also includes the design and construction of associated off-board scope including bulk earthworks, civil infrastructure, structural works and electrical upgrades to support the functionally safe operation of the new reclaimers.
Job Summary:
As Civil Supervisor, you will be assigned to a field construction organization in a supervisory capacity within an EPCM team where you will be responsible for supervising and directing operations within assigned discipline or area.
You will supervise works contractor activities, ensuring assigned construction operations and works contractors' performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
This position is a Karratha site based role on a 2&1 FIFO Roster.
Major Responsibilities:
Role supports on mid-size projects of medium to high complexity with multiple stakeholders' involvement.
Monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Reviews subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
Education and Experience Requirements:
A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, or Specialized courses in construction technology and management, and/or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation.
Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Incident Performance Philosophy.
Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan and the Bechtel Core Processes.
Knowledge of the Six Sigma program tools and methodologies.
Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs).
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.
Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
Knowledge of the use of contracts, and the works contractor's responsibilities contained in contract documents.
Experience working with, supervising and administering works contractors in an EPCM environment.
Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
