We have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for a Technical Superintendent to join our Fremantle Office, following an internal transfer.
In this role, you'll work closely with Port Managers to oversee the condition of our vessels and provide technical support to our Albany, Bunbury, and Geraldton harbour towage operations.

What You Can Expect
This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your marine engineering expertise to enhance operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement across our Albany, Bunbury, and Geraldton towage operations.
Balancing office-based duties with regular travel to regional ports, you'll work collaboratively to solve technical challenges, provide expert guidance, and support the strategic development of towage operations across Albany, Bunbury, and Geraldton.

Key Responsibilities
Providing technical advice to management on fleet condition and any issues affecting vessel availability.
Assisting with maintenance and crew management using computer-based planned maintenance and procurement systems.
Supporting the preparation of dry-docking specifications, maintenance budgets, and expenditure monitoring.
Collaborating with management to plan maintenance schedules, labor requirements, and work programs.
Monitoring and coordinating statutory requirements for vessel surveys and audits.
Managing inventory control of stores and spare parts, including procurement from local suppliers and service contractors.
Coordinating repair work, safety inspections, and equipment supply in alignment with production schedules.
What You Need to Succeed
Proven experience in marine engineering, with a relevant maritime or trade qualification.
Experience leading teams of engineers and coordinating external service contractors.
Familiarity with mechanical equipment and systems such as diesel engines, power generation, tug propulsion systems, and hydraulics.
Experience liaising with classification societies and statutory bodies regarding vessel certification and documentation compliance.
A solution-oriented approach, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis.
Initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and a basic understanding of computer network hardware and system architecture.
Flexibility to travel to port locations as required to meet operational needs.
