ABOUT OUR PERTH OFFICE South32's corporate office is based in the heart of Perth's CBD.
The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, External Affairs, Sustainability Strategy, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk, Legal and Technical.
Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

As the Principal Concept Studies, you lead an integrated study team exploring the dimensions of the early phase investment opportunities across South32's operations.
We have some flexibility across the team with respect to commodity and experience but the role requires a high-level and well-developed application of study and project practices and involves a high degree of interaction and coordination with related projects.
Reporting to the Lead Principal Studies, other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
Responsible for the planning, execution and delivery of assigned concept studies, objectively, efficiently, and effectively exploring the business case of potential investment opportunitiesHealth, safety and environment compliance and outcomes for assigned studiesDevelopment of comprehensive commercially relevant business cases evaluating investment opportunitiesCompliance with reporting and approval governance requirementsResponsible for the development of budgets and schedules for assigned studiesCultivate positive relationships with members of the operations planning, analysis and improvement teams, and also with specific stakeholders and external service providersABOUT YOU You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Experience in the delivery of concept studies within the mining or heavy industry or relevant alternative experienceTen years experience in consulting, mining and earth science, extractive industry or manufacturing, particularly in the areas of strategic planning, development and reportingBroad exposure to operating facilities and process plants or other major industrial undertakingsExperience in working with diverse stakeholder groupsWell-developed oral and written communication skills; able to communicate at all levels in the organization.Qualifications for this position are:
Relevant degree and extensive demonstrated experience (Geoscience, Mining, Metallurgy, Engineering, Chemistry, Business or related)Project management or equivalent qualifications would be beneficial.South32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
