The central objective of Amazon's global operations employee relations team is to ensure our organisation's treatment of employees is fair, respectful, and consistent with our framework of core business values and objectives.
To support that objective, this position's responsibilities fall into proactive and reactive categories.You will have deep subject matter knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally on a wide range of employee relations initiatives.
This is a highly visible and varied role, with common interactions with Senior Amazon Leadership.
The successful candidate will be able to influence decision-making and direct the business into the future.
This role will involve approx.
50% travel.Key job responsibilitiesYou will be responsible for:Advocating for the best interests of associates and assisting in building a direct and sincere long-term relationship with diverse teamsPartnering and influencing Site Leaders when necessary to ensure a positive associate experiencePartnering with Site Leaders and HR teams to create and sustain positive employee relations programs and best practices tailored to business needsAdapting Global tools and programs to fit the Australian environmentConducting and collaborating on positive employee relations trainings and communicationsDesigning, collecting, and analysing multiple levels of associate feedbackWorking with other stakeholders to implement systems and processes for identifying potential issues before they become problemsPartnering to engage in continuous improvement in communication tools and practicesAnalysing, diagnosing, designing, and revising people programs, policies, and practices to sustain positive employee relationsSupporting Operations and HR with Case Management EscalationsAssisting large scale, country-wide projects that improve the associate experienceBASIC QUALIFICATIONSAs the successful candidate you will have:Significant experience in employee relations, employment engagement, or labor/employment lawExperience in warehouse, logistics and/or transportation facilities highly desirable; experience in blue collar work environments or high profile employers a significant plusA bachelor's degree in law, a business discipline, or human resourcesKnowledge and understanding of proactive direct employee engagement concepts and philosophiesAn understanding of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards and other State and Federal lawsExperience in designing and delivering successful training programsTechnically proficient in MS Word, Excel, & PowerPointAbility to successfully manage a dynamic and complex network of internal stakeholdersPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS• Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills, enabling individual to establish partnerships working with senior leaders and across organisational lines• Acts with sense of urgency, bias for action, and desire to thrive in a dynamically growing environment• High-quality judgment and sound decision-making• Strong project and time management skills with ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects to closureAcknowledgement of country:In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
