A distinguished Cost Consultancy firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Planner to join their team in Perth.
Known for delivering exceptional cost management and planning services, the firm specializes in sectors such as Mining, Infrastructure, Oil and Gas, Commercial, and Residential projects.
Role Overview: This role calls for a Senior Planner with extensive experience in mining projects, particularly in the Australian context.
The successful candidate will not only develop and manage detailed project schedules but also directly engage with Tier 1 mining companies, ensuring that projects are delivered seamlessly and efficiently.
Based in Perth CBDSalary: $145k to $180k + Super (Dependent on experience)Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive project schedules, including Class 2-5 Control Schedules and Control Programs, to ensure efficient project execution.Schedule Management: Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules, including Basis of Schedule documentation, Schedule Activities, Project Execution Plans, Resource Plans, and Histograms.Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with project teams, including engineers, procurement, and construction personnel, to ensure effective schedule integration and alignment.
Coordinate with site-based teams to gather necessary information and provide updates on project progress.Data Analysis: Analyse project data and metrics to identify potential risks, delays, or opportunities for improvement.
Prepare and interpret various reports, including earned value analysis, progress reports, and variance analysis.Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks and ensure project success.
Identify and assess risks, develop mitigation plans, and monitor their effectiveness.Change Management: Assess the impact of proposed changes on project schedules and recommend appropriate adjustments to maintain project objectives.
Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure that changes are implemented effectively.Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior planning team members, fostering their professional development and knowledge.
Share expertise in project scheduling, data analysis, and risk management.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project planning and execution efficiency.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the team uses the latest tools and methodologies.Qualifications and Requirements: Tertiary qualification in engineering, project or construction management, or a related field (not essential)Certifications: While not mandatory, certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) can be advantageous.Must have full working rights in AustraliaProven Australian working experience in mining projects is mandatoryExceptional communication skills as this role will require extensive client liaison and stakeholder managementKnowledge and Experience: Strong experience as a Senior Project Planner, preferably within the mining or infrastructure sectors.Proven background in estimating schedulingExperience in using other scheduling software and tools.Experience in using project scheduling software like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.Demonstrated experience in developing and managing complex project schedules, including Class 2-5 Control Schedules and Control ProgramsExperience in analysing project progress, identifying risks, and implementing corrective actions.Knowledge of risk management and contingency planning.Understanding of earned value management (EVM) principles.Strong understanding of Western Australian industry standards, regulations, and best practices.Knowledge of Western Australian environmental laws, safety regulations, and equal opportunity legislation.Skills Technical Skills: Proven expertise using Primavera P6, and MS Projects scheduling software.Soft Skills: Strong analytic and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proven ability to coordinate with various stakeholders, including engineers, procurement, and project personnel.We encourage you to apply if you are a passionate and experienced Senior Planner looking for a challenging and rewarding career.
