Montessori Care is a registered NDIS service provider of in-home aged care and disability supports.
We are currently seeking enthusiastic Dance Therapists to join our diverse team in Greater Sydney, NSW.
As a Dance/Movement Therapist, your primary responsibility is to utilize dance and movement as therapeutic tools to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of neurodiverse children and adults and people with disabilities.
This service will be tailored to the needs of individual clients and groups.
Responsibilities Conducting initial assessments to evaluate clients' needs, abilities, challenges, and goals related to movement and dance.
Using movement observation, improvisation, guided movement experiences, and dance/movement games to facilitate therapeutic outcomes.
Modifying dance/movement therapy interventions to accommodate the unique needs and abilities of individuals with disabilities.
Maintaining accurate and detailed records of client progress, session notes, and treatment plans.
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, psychologists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to provide integrated care.
Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in music therapy research, techniques, and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree or equivalent (desirable) Experience working in the NDIS sector First Aid/CPR Valid Australian Driver's License Checks WWCC NDIS Check First Aid/CPR Working Conditions Work may be conducted in various settings, including client homes and community institutions.
Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate client needs, including occasional evening or weekend appointments.
Travel may be required to visit multiple client locations within a designated geographic area.
