Nursing - Aged Care (Healthcare & Medical)
A full-time opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Enrolled Nurse or qualified educator/trainer to join our team at Merrimac Park, a 96-bed modern yet well-established Gold Coast Aged Care Service, offering high-quality levels of accommodation and privacy.
The service is set amongst privately owned acreage, located just minutes from Central Gold Coast with the Robina Hospital and Robina Town Centre Shopping Centre.
The Onboarding/Education Officer will be responsible for the orientation and ongoing support of all new staff and will provide a robust mentoring program to our AINs, both current and new, as well as being responsible for conducting and maintaining records for monthly mandatory education.
The Officer will prioritize their work within established policies, guidelines, and procedures, and will be accountable for their performance.
A high level of knowledge and skill is required to educate staff and ensure a high level of care is provided to our residents.
Minimum Requirements: Training and education experience essential Strong working knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards Current Practicing Registration with AHPRA if applicable Aged care experience is essential - Minimum 12 months experience Dementia qualifications and experience will be highly regarded Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with a "Can do" attitude Knowledge of AN-ACC, SIRS, Restrictive practices, and the Aged Care Quality Standards High level of computer literacy including use of clinical software Current national police certificate Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a valid work visa Must be living in Queensland Gold Coast Tasks Include: Developing and maintaining the onboarding program for new staff Providing mentorship, support, and guidance to new staff with a focus on AIN staffing Completing toolbox sessions with staff when gaps are identified by the clinical team Reporting to the Centre Manager on performance assessments, competencies, and areas of improvement Being the contact person for new staff to ask questions, get advice, and access general support when commencing as a new staff member Supervising and coordinating the work of Enrolled Nurses and AINs What Merrimac Park Private Care can offer you: Meal provisions supplied for meal breaks - bread, spreads, assorted salad items, fresh fruit bowls, tea/coffee, chilled water, cordials, and flavored milks Work in a supported and fun learning environment Opportunity to enhance and grow your skills Opportunity to work with experienced professionals in Nursing, Allied Health, and Qualified Chefs Flexible family-friendly working hours Onsite parking in secure grounds Temporary onsite private accommodation available #J-18808-Ljbffr
