Group Financial Controller - ASX Market Leader The Organisation
With a Melbourne head office, our client is a high profiled ASX listed organisation going through an exciting period of growth and change.
A clear industry leader, they are a fast paced and dynamic business with a progressive culture.
This is an exciting opportunity to establish yourself as the 2IC to the CFO of an iconic ASX listed business.
The Role
Reporting directly to a well credentialled and highly motivated CFO, you will be an integral member of a high performing finance team.
With a broad mandate, you will be responsible for all aspects of the financial management of the business.
With a strong focus on executing all ASX reporting requirements, you will also be required to partner with the business and executive teams to support key strategic decisions.
You will be responsible for the management and development of a medium sized finance team.
Key responsibilities will include, but will not be restricted to: Manage the preparation, review and analysis of the groups consolidated monthly reporting.
Manage the quarterly forecast process, including consolidated reporting and analysis to the executive and the board.
Review and analyse operating results in relation to cost, budgets and forecasts.
Manage the annual budget and strategic planning process.
Lead the ongoing development of management reporting for the Group that meets the needs of the business and the Board.
Lead the preparation of the half-year and year-end ASX reports and financial statements in line with statutory and executive management deadlines and in accordance with professional and statutory reporting requirements.
Produce analysis and commentary on statutory reports for the Executives and the Audit Committee.
Prepare schedules for financial reporting in accordance with management and statutory requirements.
Assess and advise on implications of technical accounting and statutory requirements on transactions.
Participate in the development of short and longer-term financial policies, objectives and plans and oversee the implementation of agreed financial plans.
Maintain a regular review of income and expenditure, including capital expenditure, to ensure cash flow is adequate to meet business needs.
Manage the statutory and management consolidations of the business.
Partner with external advisors in relation to tax compliance, including direct and indirect taxes.
The Successful Candidate
CA qualified, you will be an ambitious and well credentialled finance leader with an advanced technical accounting skill set.
Having commenced your career in either the Big 4 or a highly regarded mid-tier firm, you will have extensive experience auditing ASX listed businesses.
You will be currently working in a high profiled ASX in a senior group role, that sees you owning all aspects of ASX reporting.
An experienced leader, you will have a strong track record in managing 3-5 direct reports and enjoy developing both qualified accountants and clerical accounts staff.
You will have advanced stakeholder management skills and will thrive in building strong working relationships with the CFO, CEO, Board of Directors and Senior External Stakeholders.
