Two divisions – Santos Energy Solutions and Santos Upstream Gas and Liquids – are accountable for global portfolio management and strategy.About the RoleJoin the Cooper Oil Subsurface team as a Senior Reservoir Engineer where you will leverage your strategic critical thinking and expertise, providing technical support, aiding in the generation of new drilling inventory, conceptual field development planning, and evaluation of post drill results. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting future development drilling opportunities and reservoir management activities. Reporting to the Cooper Oil Team Leader you will play a key role engaging and working collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business.Key Responsibilities:Provide reservoir engineering technical and field development planning support to Cooper Subsurface team to deliver new drilling opportunities.Ensure all subsurface technical work is appropriately assured through formal and informal technical reviews both internally and externally (JV).Provide operational support for drilling wells, including monitoring drilling results and assist with operational recommendations including evaluation and C&S/P&A decisions.Provide technical support during YE Reserves process.Complete end of well lookbacks and update estimates of field reserves, production potential and risk using Santos's procedures and processes.Document and report work at both working level and, as required, for internal and external stakeholder engagement.Keep up to date with new technology and where appropriate, develop, justify and implement the use of new and innovative technology/software.About YouWe are seeking someone with proven experience working within a multi-disciplinary team. A demonstrated self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. As part of our growth and development for the future, you would have experience and a passion for mentoring junior staff in reservoir engineering, management, and modelling.Essential experience required for this position includes:10+ years' experience in the oil and gas industry.Experience working in multi-disciplinary subsurface teams generating drilling opportunities.Experience in resources assessments, formulating, documenting and presenting to resource certifiers.The ability to communicate clearly and concisely to stakeholders and management.Proven self-starter and self-guided, with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with key stakeholders.Excellent written and verbal communication skills that can be applied across disciplines and management levels.Essential qualifications required for this position are:Degree qualified subsurface professional (petroleum/reservoir engineering).Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or working towards becoming registered.How to ApplyApplications must be submitted via the online recruitment system before COB 18th October 2024.
