Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager

Job Description: Reporting to the Commercial Director for Australia, this exciting role holds responsibility for the leadership of the raw materials sourcing team. You'll be responsible for leading and representing the procurement function known as Commercial at MARS, for sourcing all raw materials across all Australian sites to ensure excellence in the deployment of Commercial strategies, practices, policies, and projects.
To create value for Pet Parents, this role will bring external insights and innovation, and you would be actively involved in the identification and execution of sustainability, growth, and cost savings activities to meet our local and global targets. In addition, as the team leader, you will actively drive the Talent agenda and build a capable, engaged, and effective team.
What are we looking for?Exceptional leader with strategic & people leadership experience a must, as the role manages a team with 6 direct reports.
Substantial experience in Commercial/Procurement with a good understanding of ingredients, agricultural commodities, and market fundamentals.
Substantial experience in sourcing category leadership including sourcing strategy development, price risk management, and value leadership.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Agricultural Science, Business Management, Finance, or other relevant areas.
What would be your key responsibilities?Lead the Commercial Raw Material team, engaging them in the Commercial vision and strategy through to delivery for all aspects of sourcing and buying operations for packaging and co-manufacturing/co-packaging across Australia.
Model 'Great Line Management' by engaging and empowering associates to maximize their contribution and involvement in business outcomes.
Continuously improve an already high-performing, effective team that includes people with the right skills, knowledge, and behaviors to accelerate success.
Work with appropriate contacts to drive reporting, insights, and representation as it relates to Commercial activities at leadership forums.
