About The RolePublic Sector People are partnering with a State Government Department to fill an AO5 Business Support Officer position in Townsville.
This is a full-time temporary position to conclude at the end of the year with a strong possibility of extension.
In this role you will collaborate with various stakeholders, conduct project coordination, and provide strategic support to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
This position offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of Queenslanders while supporting initiatives such as the Path to Treaty and Closing the Gap.
Key Responsibilities Project Coordination: Lead and coordinate various operational projects aimed at improving service delivery, including research, analysis, and recommendation of optimized work practices.Management of inbox: Reviewing and managing correspondence of an inbox, assessing and moving onto the areas it needs to go to.Strategic Support: Provide high-quality advice and timely support to the Regional Director and Housing Service Centres, including preparing monthly performance reports, budgets, and correspondence.Relationship Building: Establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, participating in regional forums and team discussions to achieve strategic goals.Governance and Safety: Promote workplace health and safety policies and practices while ensuring effective work in areas such as HR, financial management, and corporate governance.Ideal Candidate The Ideal Candidate Will Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in responding to evolving requirements and changes within the organization.Customer-Centric Approach: Actively work to understand and meet the needs of customers and stakeholders, maintaining professional and respectful communication.Collaboration: Be a team player with a focus on building networks to contribute to quality service delivery.Communication Skills: Exhibit clear, concise communication in both written and verbal forms, adjusting style to fit diverse audiences.Analytical Thinking: Conduct thorough research and analysis to make informed decisions, showcasing strong judgment skills.Ethical Standards: Model professional, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior, ensuring alignment with the department's values.Mandatory Requirement: A valid Class C driver's license.
