You will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Scaling Leadership and Technical Program Managers. You will leverage your experience supporting large scale, enterprise class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting.As a Network Technician II, you will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction. In addition to providing management and support of Amazon Web Services vast network infrastructure, Network Technicians establish and follow best practices and refine operational procedures.AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.Key job responsibilitiesBuild out first level router-aggregates, build the console network for new rooms, and support network scaling projects.Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.Collaboration with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low-level application interaction.Up to 60% travel within geographical work area is required. Some travel outside traditional work area may be requested, including internationally.Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.Specify Power and Cooling requirements and ensure Hardware Racking/Stacking is completed for new equipment.Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.Moving and lifting computer equipment up to 50 lbs.A day in the lifeOur team has three primary tasks:Providing the first level networking devices to serve our customer racks entails various tasks: You will track network rack intake and delivery; work with various onsite teams to request for rack space, power, and cooling for network racks. And then partner with network engineers to ensure all configurations are ready.There is also console builds (and room builds) that are really exciting. You'll be exposed to more teams whose goal is to provide more space and capacity for customer racks.Work with ID-Scaling peers to build higher-level networking devices.About the teamOur Atlanta Region is expanding into an ML Cluster, and we are very excited to expand our team with dedicated Infrastructure Deployment Technicians to help scale our network and server capacity.This team covers the whole Atlanta region with all the sites inside and outside the perimeter. There is travel involved as we move where the capacity is needed.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- AS/BS in Computer Science; or Certification in a relevant field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA) and up to 2 years of Networking Deployment experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.- 2+ years working in a Data Center Environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Data Center Operations experience (racking & stacking devices, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment knowledge).- Experience in participating in on-call rotations, and providing after-hours support in an environment that operates 24/7.- Experience with troubleshooting server devices and understanding key functions of internal outer components.- Understanding of file systems and Operating systems such as Linux, Windows, MAC.- Experience with storage devices.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
