Manager Flight Operations Safety

Take charge of managing Flight Operations Safety for Alliance Airlines, working closely with the Flight Operations Management and Safety Department to ensure top-tier safety standards.
Reporting directly to the General Manager of Flight Operations, you'll play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing our Flight Safety policies and processes.

What's the role on offer? Based at our Head Office in Brisbane, you will lead the Flight Operations Safety team ensuring excellence in safety practices and outcomes.
As nominated Part 142 Quality Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the quality assurance of our CASA Part 142 Certificate, along with overseeing safety performance.
Plus, maintain your flying skills with 20% of your role dedicated to active flying. Oversee the e-SMS System, validating Flight and Cabin Safety reports and managing corrective actions.Analyse Flight and Cabin Safety Data, identifying trends and presenting insights to management for proactive decision-making.Manage Flight Data Analysis Programs, ensuring safety reports are classified, investigated, and closed promptly.Conduct Investigations into quality, compliance, and safety occurrences, providing high-quality reports and recommendations.Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in safety-led investigations and audits, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.Collaborate with the GMFO, overseeing safety programs like FDAP and Safety Action Group (DSAG) meetings.Liaise with Regulatory Bodies, manage audits, and offer recommendations to enhance training and operational safety performance.Who we are looking for? Our ideal candidate will have experience as an Aviation and Management professional and a focus on all things Safety.

Aviation Expertise: Extensive experience in Aviation Operations, Safety Management, and Investigations with an ATPL and aircraft type rating for Alliance Airlines.Certifications: Instrument Rating (IR(A) 2D/3D) and a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate are essential.
Lead Auditor and Investigation Certificates are highly desirable.Regulatory Compliance: Must possess a current Australian Passport or permanent work rights in Australia.Safety Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Safety Management principles, HFNTS, and a strong focus on FOQA and FDAP analysis.Leadership Skills: Proven leadership, management, and staff engagement experience with strong interpersonal abilities.Analytical & Communication Skills: High-level analytical abilities paired with excellent written and verbal communication skills.Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to handle reporting and presentations.Impartiality & Integrity: Ability to maintain objectivity, remain unbiased, and protect the integrity of safety investigations and systems.Does this sound like you?
