As a key member of the team, you will provide high level critical thinking and strategic whole-of-government policy advice and briefing to the Chief Minister and Head of Service while working in a dynamic environment to resolve challenges facing the ACT and the broader Australian community.
You will build and maintain productive relationships across the ACT Government, have a critical role in policy development, prioritisation and coordination, and provide an integral link for ACT Government involvement in and contribution to cross-jurisdictional and national discussions and forums, including National Cabinet.
As the Assistant Director you will demonstrate leadership and guide and mentor your fellow team members.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:
This position requires a national security clearance.
You may be required to gain and maintain a National Baseline or Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
To be eligible for a national security clearance you need to be an Australian citizen.
Note: This is a temporary position available immediately until 31 May 2026.
The selection method for this position may be based on application, interview, written assessment and/or referee reports.
A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future vacancies over the next 12 months.
Please note, this position operates in a hybrid capacity which includes working from home and in office under an activity-based working environment with unallocated desks when in the office.
