Snow Grooming Assistant Manager

The Assistant Grooming Manager directly works with and supports the Grooming Manager in all daily requirements of the Grooming Department.
Focusing on safety and all Grooming operations including but not limited to managing and training employees, management of nightly grooming operations.
It is expected that the Assistant Grooming Manager can work and think on their feet to quickly resolve issues, have exceptional communication and excellent organizational skills.
As the Assistant Grooming Manager, you will oversee and coordinate the activities of all Employees engaged within your department.
Working with the Grooming Manager, you are to facilitate the effective and safe operation of the Grooming Department and work closely with the Snowmaking department to enhance operations.
Working within your team, you are to provide leadership and guidance to all and work with other supervisors/managers to implement strategies for increasing safety, work satisfaction and productivity.

IN RESORT DISCOUNTS: Staff pass to access the mountain, discounts across various retail, food & beverage outlets, 50% off bring a friend vouchers, snowsports/mountain biking lessons, backcountry deals & seasonal rental packagesWELLNESS: Access to Thredbo Leisure Centre, gym, pool & Employee Assistance ProgramTRANSPORT: Winter: Carpool bonus and bus initiative to help you get to workAbout the Role Manage grooming fleet to deliver premium product for guest experienceAssist Grooming Manager with all aspects of daily/nightly operations of Grooming DepartmentMaintain extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of the Alpine Resorts industry.Maintain an extensive knowledge in grooming operations and developments.Lead a large group of people with a diverse range of skill sets to optimise operations and build a supportive and proactive team.Create engaging and empowering training plans for the team's development and progression within your department.Facilitate and use to full potential the Snowsat operating system for slopes maintenance.Liaise with media/marketing regarding snow conditions and make sure reports and the website are updated on a daily basis.Work closely with the Mechanical department to ensure appropriate machinery is ready for each shift.Assist the Grooming & Snowmaking managers in management of UPSS Underground petroleum storage system at cat shed and Valley terminalAbout You Extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of the Alpine resorts industry.Sound working knowledge of snow groomingPositive solution-oriented attitude.Current Drivers Licence.Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.Strong customer service knowledge.Proficiency in operating heavy plant equipment preferred.If you're ready for your next adventure, apply now to join our team
