It introduces a core requirement for employers to make super contributions to funds within seven calendar days of payday, significantly accelerating current processes.The implementation of Payday Super involves extensive collaboration across the SG ecosystem, including employers, digital service providers, gateways, clearing houses, super funds, and the ATO.
Preparations include adapting systems, workflows, and compliance practices to meet the faster pace required by the new system.
Legislative changes are being developed by Treasury, while the ATO and industry stakeholders work proactively to align with upcoming requirements.Key to this transition is the ATO's enhanced capability to match Single Touch Payroll data with super contribution reports.
This allows for proactive compliance monitoring and faster intervention when employers fail to meet obligations, ensuring more timely contributions for workers.
Payday Super will drive significant operational and cultural shifts within the superannuation industry, requiring readiness for faster data processing and regulatory responses.The ATO is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Support Officer to assist in the successful delivery of the Payday Super initiative.
This role offers a unique opportunity to support a transformative project aimed at modernizing the Super Guarantee (SG) system, ensuring timely and accurate superannuation contributions for millions of Australians.
As Project Support Officer, you will provide essential administrative, logistical, and operational support to the project team, ensuring smooth coordination and efficient delivery of project objectives.
You will work closely with the Project Manager, assisting with planning, reporting, and stakeholder communication.Key Responsibilities:Assist the Project Manager in preparing project plans, schedules, and documentation.Organize and maintain project files, reports, and correspondence to ensure efficient access and version control.Schedule and coordinate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements.Prepare agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items to ensure timely progress.Support the preparation of regular project status reports, presentations, and dashboards.Maintain accurate records of project milestones, risks, and deliverables.Assist in tracking project risks and issues, ensuring they are logged and monitored.Support the Project Manager in identifying and addressing potential challenges.Provide administrative support for stakeholder communications and change initiatives.Help draft communication materials and updates related to Payday Super.Monitor and manage project resources, including tracking budgets and expenses.Perform other administrative and coordination tasks as required by the project team.Skills and Experience:Previous experience in a project support or administrative role.Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Office Suite, SharePoint).Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.Experience working in projects related to superannuation, financial services, or government sectors.Familiarity with project management frameworks (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2).Knowledge of the Super Guarantee system and related legislation.HOW TO APPLYPlease follow the application process carefully.
