About the role WesTrac is on the lookout for Auto Electricians to join our General Workshop Rebuilds and NEW Machines teams at the Tomago branch, supporting our extensive customer base in NSW.
With a robust forecast of work, your role will be crucial in heavy mobile plant builds, repairs and maintenance.
You will work on a variety of auto electrical systems and components, diagnosing issues, and performing repairs, maintenance, and installations on CAT machinery including Off-Highway Trucks (OHTs), Dozers, Graders, and Drills, including models 789, 793, 777, D10, and D11, as well as some auxiliary and civil equipment.

Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify electrical and electronic faults in CAT machinery.
Assemble and install electrical and electronic systems on a variety of CAT machinery, both new builds and rebuilds.
Efficiently repair and replace faulty electrical components to restore machinery to optimal working condition.
Perform scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and reliability of electrical systems.
Maintain a strong focus on safety protocols to prevent accidents and uphold a safe working environment.
Ensure high-quality workmanship in all repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks to meet industry standards and customer expectations.
Skills & Experience Trade qualified Auto Electrician with post trade experience and/or extensive industry experience.
Caterpillar equipment experience and product knowledge will be highly regarded.
Experience with Auto Electrical fault finding and diagnostics.
Dedicated to maintaining safe work practices and environment.
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads and delegate effectively.
