The Category Buying team work together with the Planning team to drive sales, maximise profit, manage intake and ensure that of the moment and forward-thinking ranges engage THE ICONIC customer.As the Category Buyer you will report to the Senior Category Buyer.
You will support the department strategy, vision and budget planning.
You will be responsible for assisting the purchasing and procurement of goods required by the business.
You will support the department to achieve the sales growth within your category in alignment with THE ICONIC's commercial strategy.We're on the hunt for an experienced and passionate Category Buyer - Women's accessories to join our dynamic commercial teamIn this exciting role, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping the women's accessories category at THE ICONIC, curating a selection that reflects the latest trends and meets the evolving needs of our customers.
If you're driven by data, thrive on creativity, and have a flair for negotiation, this is your chance to make a lasting impact in one of the most innovative e-commerce environments.About the role:You understand and drive company-wide strategies and OKRs.Conduct market research to stay up to date with the latest trends and products in the e-commerce industry and make recommendations on product and/or brand selection for THE ICONIC.Monitor inventory levels to maintain adequate stock levels.Evaluate vendor performance and assist in the selection and deactivation and/or exit process.Negotiate favourable terms and conditions for contracts for both commission-based (Platform) and OTB based (Wholesale) vendors while delivering the best customer-facing assortment in the market.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and industry regulations.Maintain accurate records of vendor details including brand plans, SKU lists, department brand profile matrix, tiering profile.Identify opportunities for improvements for the customer onsite experience.Analyse data, interpret trends, and propose informed decisions based on data.Identify cost savings opportunities and propose effective procurement and platform strategies.Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and work collaboratively with vendors to achieve mutual goals and foster long-term partnerships.Liaise onboarding for vendors with internal teams and maintain ongoing support.Work collaboratively with agreed key brands on building assortment.Manage inefficient and unproductive brands to propose informed strategies.Pay attention to detail, particularly with contract terms and conditions, and ensure all terms and conditions are met.Collaborate with marketing to identify both GTM and promotional opportunities for your category to drive sales.Develop and implement strategic road maps according to commercial strategies, brand adjacencies, and customer segment demographics.Develop relationships with internal key stakeholders such as Marketing, Vendor Management, Operations, and Finance.Communicate clearly and effectively in a concise manner.Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members.Adapt to changes in the market and industry, being open to learning new skills and approaches.Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by management.About you…Previous experience as a Buyer working in a high volume business.Skilled in Excel reporting (including pivot tables and v-look ups).Strong communication skills with a great eye for detail.A strong team player who embodies our ICONIC Principles.A love for all things women's fashion and accessories.Life at THE ICONICAt THE ICONIC, we believe in doing things a little differently.
