Meeka Metals Limited (MEK) is building Western Australia's newest gold mine, the Murchison Gold Project, 50kms north of Meekatharra and requires an experienced Senior Mine Surveyor to establish and oversee the Survey Department at our flagship site -
Murchison Gold Project.The project is a combined open pit and underground mining operation with an initial 9-year mine life.
Site activities are ramping up now with construction underway, mining operations commencing early in 2025 and processing commencing shortly thereafter.About the RoleThe Senior Mine Surveyor will report into the Underground Mine Manager and is responsible and accountable to organise and conduct all mine survey activities so as to support the aims detailed in the mine plan.
You will be a capable and driven leader with a focus on safety, as well proven ability to build cohesive teams to function effectively and productively allowing individuals and workgroup to achieve their goals.The role is offered on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Perth.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish the survey department, including assisting to recruit additional survey personnel.Conduct surveys of both open pit and underground work areas, maintain up to date data, produce plans and ensure data is available as required.Supervise and mentor survey team ensuring they are set up for success, including successful and ongoing completion of all performance management compliance within company procedures.
Provide reports based on survey information including end of month survey results and the like used for contractor claims.Develop procedures to standardise the department's activities.Comply with the HSE and legal requirements detailed in our Health and Safety policy, and HSE Management standards.About YouAuthorised Mine Surveyor's Certificate - Grade 1Proficiency in mining planning software (Surpac)Experience in the Microsoft Office suite of softwareDeveloped numeracy, written and verbal communication skillsProactive attitude and a willingness to develop knowledgeThe ability to coordinate and prioritise workloads in line with planning schedulesDisplay sound judgement and problem-solving abilitiesThe ability to work independently and unsupervisedValid C Western Australian Drivers LicenceAccommodationYou will be accommodated in a well-appointed mine village with a fully equipped gym, WIFI with streaming capacity, and full Telstra coverage.
