Join our dynamic Men Engaging in New Directions (MEND) program as a Senior Case Worker and play a pivotal role in helping men understand and take responsibility for their abusive behaviours.
MEND is a voluntary 12-week, one-on-one program dedicated to supporting men aged 16 and above, to take accountability for their abusive behaviours within intimate and familial relationships.
Through structured support, MEND aims to foster respectful relationships, prioritise the safety of women, children, and young people, and contribute to building safer communities.
As a Senior Case Worker, you will deliver individual counselling services using a behaviour change framework, guiding participants through the structured program from initial intake and assessment through to engagement, support, and the actioning of behaviour change.
You will provide throughcare support at the program's conclusion, focusing on safety planning, referrals, and follow-up check-ins to encourage sustainable change.
Your approach will be tailored to ensure cultural appropriateness, particularly for Aboriginal participants, and you will collaborate with internal and external services to strengthen support networks for participants and their families.

The position is based in Cannington and is offered on a Fixed Term Part-Time basis, working 60.8 hours per fortnight.

Selection Criteria Tertiary qualification in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or related fieldExperience in Family and Domestic Violence Men's Behaviour Change Programs.Awareness of risk management and case management principles, particularly in relation to Family and Domestic Violence.Quality assurance, evaluation methodologies, effective record keeping and case management.Ability to develop rapport, be non-judgemental and provide a high level of risk assessment, safety planning, individual and group work, to clients across the lifespan.Skills in liaising at all levels with other service providers.Ability to apply current knowledge of developmental and psychosocial issues to assess clients and refer effectively if deemed necessary.Skills in managing crisis and emotional distressSkills in managing difficult group dynamics and difficult behaviourSkills in advocacy, negotiation, and teamwork.Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)Working With Children CheckWhat we can offer you Generous NFP salary packaging opportunities (option to package up to $15,900 for general living expenses and an additional $2,650 for entertainment benefits per annum)Extra Leave - 5 days of extra paid leave per annum (pro rata for part time)Paid parental leave policyFamily Domestic Violence and Abuse (FDVA) leave, financial assistance and structured support for any employees who have experienced FDVA incidentsDiscounted Health Insurance with HBFFree, confidential counselling services through our Employee Assistance ProgramHow to apply
