The CBA technology unit delivers the best digital banking services to Commonwealth Bank customers and is responsible for digital delivery, group data and analytics, technology and technology infrastructure, cyber, fraud, physical security and business resilience for all divisions across CBA.
It is also dedicated to delivering the best workplace technology experience for our over 53,000 people across CBA and focused on providing the latest tools, technology, and resources to enhance the way we work together and empower our people to achieve more for our customers.
Responsibilities: As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll be doing hands-on coding and be responsible for shaping the technical evolution of this system by contributing to technical strategy, end-to-end design, implementation, and delivery.Developing APIs, microservices, backend components, data access layers, and driving innovative process improvements that add significant business value.Designing innovative solutions to solve complicated problems as part of a cross-functional squad.Guiding and mentoring the engineers across your Crew to develop elegant, well-tested, and maintainable code.Ensuring our technical approach is sound, fit for purpose, and well architected.Supporting deployments across our Azure and AWS (Amazon Web Services) environments through our continuous delivery pipelines.Promoting a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and innovation while contributing to the definition & governance of our standards and best practices.Acting as the technical subject matter expert for all engineers, sharing knowledge and learning through your chapter, workshops, and guilds.Contributing to growing the next generation of talent through our graduate and intern academy.Qualifications: Strong hands-on experience with technologies like C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, React.js/Next.js.Sound knowledge of large-scale distributed systems, Microservices, and Rest API Integration.Cloud - AWS (preferred) or Azure.CI/CD pipeline - GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus.Any experience with the following would be great – DevSecOps, integration using Kafka, Banking domain.Working with us Whether you're passionate about customer service, driven by software engineering, or called by creativity, a career with CommBank is for you.
