About The Role Our Undermanager's support our Underground Mining Operations by providing leadership and direction to our vital underground shift crews in all planned mining activities.
This important role is accountable for the execution of the daily and weekly plans as dictated by the planning team, in addition to, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental obligations pertaining to mining activities on the Undermanager's allocated shift.
Paid accommodation, whilst working the allocated roster, will be supplied to the successful incumbent of this role.
This role may be worked on a DIDO/ Residential basis.
FIFO may be available from Newcastle or Wollongong, depending on whether flights align with the roster pattern.
What You'll Do Use your initiative to clarify your tasks, initiate improvements and work with minimal supervision and in a coordinated manner with your peers.
Ensure 24-hour plans are distributed and communicated to all relevant parties on shift.
Where there is a need to vary the plan, the Shift Undermanager will provide assistance for the Shift Engineer, Deputies and Trades to make the appropriate decision.
Manage performance by managing and monitoring of shift personnel and enforcing standards of work and behaviour.
Ensure all shift reports are accurately filled in.
What You'll Bring Minimum 5 years' experience in Underground Longwall Mining Holder of certificate of competency as Undermanager or be mutually recognised with equivalent qualification Desired Minimum of 10 years' experience in the mining industry.
Proven track record in operational management at same or subordinate level Demonstrated management and leadership capability.
