We are seeking a dynamic Procurement Specialist to help deliver our innovative Local Buy Arrangements and drive initiatives that will shape the landscape of procurement for Queensland's councils.
Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Partnerships, you will be responsible for supporting the establishment, optimisation, and management of Local Buy Arrangements, conducting procurement data analysis, and engaging with stakeholders to drive strategic value and enhance procurement outcomes for Queensland's local governments.
Role Overview: As a Procurement Specialist at Local Buy, you will help develop and lead procurement initiatives that not only meet, but exceed, the needs of Queensland's local governments.
Your expertise in category management will be key in driving efficiencies and delivering tangible value to councils across the state.

What You'll Be Doing: Support in the development and implementation of initiatives to optimise Local Buy Arrangements, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our customers.Drive the creation and refinement of Local Buy Arrangements that deliver maximum value to Queensland's local governments.Support the Local Buy Tender process with thorough evaluations, criteria reviews, and ensuring full regulatory compliance.Leverage procurement data analytics to identify and act on trends, opportunities, and potential efficiencies within the sector.Engage with council procurement teams to deliver tailored solutions, enhancing their access to a reliable and effective supplier base.Provide hands-on procurement support and training to ensure councils fully benefit from Local Buy's offerings and to foster strong relationships.Develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of procurement templates and toolkits to assist councils and suppliers in streamlining their processes.What you will get in return: Additional 3% employer superannuation where you co-contribute 6% (total of up to 20.5%) for permanent staff.Long Service Leave is accessible and payable after seven years of service.Four weeks of Annual Leave per year plus up to 2 "Special Bonus Leave Days" per year during annual close down.Access to our corporate health plan with HCF, and up to $500 rebate per hospital admission.Novated Vehicle Leasing for Permanent staff.Membership to the Paraplegic Benefit Fund.Potential for an Employee small bonus of up to $800 per year – conditions (business KPIs, tenure, etc) apply.Wellness support, including the Telus Health digital wellbeing platform as well as their comprehensive Employee Assistance Program for you and your family.Flexible working environment – balance of office and home.Professional development opportunities and internal training program by staff for staff.Dress for Your Day – Good casual to professional attire as appropriate for your day.Regular morning teas and EOM drinks and Espresso machine, tea, biscuits and fresh fruit.And, it's a great place to work with high levels of staff engagement.Ready to Make a Difference?
