Lead Software Engineer:
This Lead Software Engineering position executes the role of project engineer including developing software architectures using modern design principles, performs technical trade studies to objectively identify balanced solutions and best of breed technologies, executes agile software development methodologies, and provides day to day technical direction to junior engineering staff.
The successful candidate will apply knowledge of avionics and network information flows, cyber tools, methods and technologies in the research, development and application of leading-edge solutions for the DoD.
Requires daily collaboration and coordination of technical tasks in Jira with other software engineers. Guide and contribute to preparation of project documentation including briefings, SRS, SOD, Test Plans, User Guide, etc. for delivery to the customer. Assists leadership with business development efforts including proposals, white papers, and target customer briefings.
Required Skills: Experience with aircraft avionics, software development, cyber tools, aircraft and vehicle data bus communication protocols such as 15538 and ARINC-429.Software development experience with aircraft or vehicle LRUs.Experience with some subset of the following: C#, Java, Python, ELK, Linux/Windows, Web applications.Technical experience across all lifecycle phases from requirements analysis, software implementation, and deployment using Agile methodologies and tools.Demonstrated ability to provide technical project leadership and mentor junior engineering staff.Ability to effectively prepare and present technical information to reviewers in oral and written formats.Works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on project objectives and deliverables. Adaptability to changing requirements and fluid program objectives.Desired Skills: Knowledge of AI/ML technologies a plus. Familiar with ML performance evaluation and optimization techniques using fuzzing, K folding, FScore, and appropriate CPU/GPUs load balancing to accelerate AI/ML workloads.Possesses knowledge of common network cyber vulnerabilities, counter measures, cyber playbooks, and monitoring tools.Education: BS or MS in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc. strongly preferred. Commensurate work experience may be considered.Location: Melbourne, FL or Cary, NC.In office, no remote work commitment.Willingness to travel as needed which could be extensive.Company Description
