About Us: Nestled in the lush, tropical surrounds of Fannie Bay in Darwin's Top End, the Darwin Turf Club/Silks is famed for the running of the Great Northern Darwin Cup, the crescendo of an eight-day dry season carnival.
With 39 race days a year, the trackside action happens all year round.
Silks is a membership-based local community club including a bistro, gaming room, sports bar, and a few conference & events spaces overlooking the race ground.
About the role: DTC/Silks is looking for the next finance guru, responsible for overseeing the financial and management reporting obligations while ensuring financial health and optimal business performance.
This position reports to the CEO and is responsible for managing a small finance team.
Key Responsibilities: Overseeing and managing all aspects of the finance departmentOversight of the month-end process including ensuring the completion of the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations and production of the monthly profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash-flow statementsCompletion of the commentary around variance to budget and cashflow forecastingPrepare and present financial reports on a monthly basis to the DTC board & CEOPreparing the annual statutory accountsPreparation and lodgment of all statutory returns such as BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT, and GSTLiaising with external auditors and banksManaging the company's financial systemsProviding commentary and analysis around the company's performance to the management teamProviding financial advice to managers regarding initiatives to improve the company's financial performanceCoordinate preparation of DTC budgets and financial plans.
Assist managers with the development of operating budgetsOversee and manage the daily functions of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivableManagement of 2 direct reports and collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer with finance projections and departmental budget requirementsControl company costs and introduce strategic initiatives to reduce expenditurePromote a positive and professional culture among staffEmployee Benefits: Base annual salary range between $120k to $135K + SuperSalary packaging optionsEAP assistance available including immediate family membersFour weeks of annual leave + 17.5% leave loadingGreat work-life balanceL&D opportunity #J-18808-Ljbffr
