Position: Grid Connection ManagerLocation: MelbourneSalary: up to $210,000 baseDesign & Build Recruitment has partnered with a reputable renewable energy developer, backed by a major international investment fund, to add a Grid Connection Manager to their experienced Grid team.This role is ideal for a mid-level engineer who's looking to transition from consulting to the owner's side, taking on a high-responsibility position in driving grid connection processes and managing critical decisions directly with stakeholders.You'll be joining a team of three, working under a supportive manager, with the chance to lead and shape connections for a range of high-profile projects including wind, BESS, and storage.
With a strong project pipeline and major financial backing from the investment fund, this role will keep you engaged in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.Key Responsibilities for the Grid Connection Manager: Lead the grid connection process for renewable energy projects, ensuring successful integration and compliance.Act as the grid connection representative, evaluating studies from consultants, providing feedback, and making decisive calls.Collaborate with a network of external consultants to drive grid connections with a focus on risk management.Conduct technical reviews of grid connection studies, oversee decision-making, and liaise with stakeholders for optimal project outcomes.Support the Head of grid connection with project planning, budgeting, and strategic decisions.Requirements for the Grid Connection Manager:8+ years of experience in power system studies, with proven experience in the grid connection process.Previous consulting background, with a desire to move into the owner/developer side.Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to manage risks and handle high-stakes scenarios.Exceptional interpersonal skills for representing the client and engaging stakeholders.Experience in large-scale renewable projects such as wind, solar, and storage preferred.Ready to Make a Move?If you're an experienced Grid Connection Manager or an engineer ready to step into this challenging role, we'd love to hear from you
