The IT Architecture team within Information Services has responsibility for exercising leadership over the agency's enterprise IT architecture environment, through the development and governance of its future state vision, associated architectural blueprints, positions, standards and frameworks to ensure alignment with departmental and whole-of-Government strategy and direction.
You will contribute to the success of the IT Architecture team and the Department through the 'Your contribution' section of the role profile.

The Enterprise Architect's key responsibilities are: Lead the development of the Enterprise Architecture by applying accepted industry methodologies and standards in developing specific reference architectures, corporate data standards and architectural models.
This may require exposure to Business, information, application, security and technology architectures.
Lead the development/management of the enterprise architecture future state vision and its associated requirements, frameworks, visions, blueprints, directions, risks to realise the Department objectives and goals, and lead the ongoing management of these artefacts for consumption by Departmental staff.
Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that the architecture supports their requirements.
Provide expert advice on architectural matters to a range of stakeholders, including business managers, service providers, application architects and development teams to co-ordinate and resolve strategic and design issues that impact the enterprise architecture.
Champion the use of agile practices in the development of Enterprise and IT Architecture, and in the design and implementation of IT solutions, with a focus on lean principles, DevSecOps practices, and industry standard agile methodologies such as the SAFe framework.
Perform architectural fit review/support of business cases, implementation strategies and solution specifications for ICT related projects and system enhancements to ensure that solutions chosen/designed/acquired are consistent with the ICT Strategy, architectural standards, principles and roadmaps, or alternatively assist in development of exceptions management plans.
Mentor and support Solution and Technical Architects to encourage a responsive, integrative approach to architecture practice and facilitate the delivery of significant ICT projects.
Participate in and contribute to the industry and other professional, government wide and cluster networks/forums to ensure awareness of industry standards and trends; share best practices, lessons learned, and knowledge/experience related to recent and up-coming technologies and vendor products and solutions to strengthen organisational and technical knowledge.
Familiarity with Microsoft Products and Services, including Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies/best practices and the ability to analyse and influence the future direction in security, supportability and cost effectiveness would be desirable.
